How much does it cost?

The fee is set one year in advance (mainly based on airfare at the time). The fee covers the airfare, transportation while in country, housing (all meals provided), and bottle water support. The fee does not include vaccinations or any medications or personal purchases made on the trip. Each trip varies quite widely, and can be found on the trip page you're applying for!

How much experience do I need to participate?

You do not need experience, we will train you on the job. A lot of what our volunteers will be doing various jobs, based on what you would like to do. We will find the right spot for you based on your comfortability and how you would like to help. There are many levels that you can get involved with, from administrative work, basic oral hygiene work, to assisting the doctors.

What do I need to apply?

The Center For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) gives recommendations to the three parts of the world that we are going to. For Uganda and Ghana, there is a live vaccine that is required, and that is the yellow fever vaccine. You need to have a card saying you were vaccinated for yellow fever. Malaria vaccines are important for traveling to these parts of the world as well. The CDC will give you a recommendation based on which country you are traveling to. You will have the vaccination done a day before getting on the plane, and then continue those vaccines a week after your return. Also it is important to note that we do not cover these vaccines in our fees.
